Counselling for Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating, Body Image, aDHD and Co-occuring disorders
You might be here if:
-
You think about food way more than you want to
-
You feel out of control around eating... or tightly in control
-
You keep saying "I'll fix this" but nothing sticks
-
You're functioning on the outside, but struggling internally
-
You don't even know if you want to recover- but you know something isn't working
If this sounds like you, you're not broken- and you are not the only one.
You don't need more willpower.
You don't need another plan.
What you're dealing with makes sense.
Eating disorders and body image struggles don't just show up randomly- they serve a purpose.
Control, numbness, distraction, coping... even if they are hurting you now.
that's why trying to "just stop" hasn't worked
You don't have to be "sick enough"
You don't need:
-
A diagnosis
-
to look a certain way
-
to be "bad enough"
-
to have been struggling for a certain amount of time.
If this is taking up space in your life, that's enough. It's time to get your life back, to regain your freedom and to heal your relationship with yourself.
This isn't surface-level therapy
-
force you into recovery before you're ready
-
throw generic coping skills at you
-
pretend this is simple or linear
-
tell you what you're doing is working when it isn't
-
understand what your eating disorder is actually doing for you
-
work with resistance instead of fighting it
-
help you make changes that your nervous system can actually tolerate
-
find an approach that supports your recovery.
Here's what we don't do
Here's what we do instead
What will change
Working together, you can start to:
-
think about food less
-
feel less controlled by urges, rules, or routines
-
understand what's actually driving your behaviours
-
process through the fear that keeps you stuck
-
build trust with your body (without forcing yourself to love it)
-
feel more in control of your life- not just your eating.
At Truth First Counselling, Our approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel both supported and honestly challenged. Therapy is not a one- size- fits- all, so each clients experience is shaped around their unique needs, goals, and pace. We work collaboratively with you to create a space where you can explore difficult experiences, gain deeper insight into patterns that keep you stuck, and begin moving towards lasting change.
Hi, I’m Lokadia, a Registered Clinical Counsellor specializing in eating disorders, ADHD, and body image concerns.
I work with people who are exhausted from feeling stuck in cycles around food, body image, perfectionism, overwhelm, or self-criticism — people who are often functioning on the outside while struggling internally.
My approach is compassionate, honest, and direct. I won’t shame you, judge you, or expect perfection. Recovery is messy, slips happen, and those moments are not failures — they’re opportunities to better understand what’s getting in the way and what support is still needed.
I will help you identify the patterns keeping you stuck, challenge the eating disorder when needed, and support you in building strategies that actually feel realistic and sustainable for your life.
Therapy with me is not about becoming “perfect.” It’s about helping you feel more connected to yourself, more flexible around food and body image, and less controlled by the patterns that have been running the show.
You don’t have to keep figuring this out alone
